About Us

Karine Sawka is the office Manager of Sawka MD PC and one of our certified laser clinicians. She has been running the business since the startup in 2001 and has been married to Dr. Sawka since 1996. Originally from the beautiful Gaspe Peninsula in Quebec Canada, she enjoys going back to her hometown to see family and friends during the summer and winter breaks. She is a mother of 2 and enjoys spending her free time with her family.

Theresa has been the front desk receptionist for Mark Sawka MD P.C. for over 12 years now; handling referrals, appointment scheduling, updating patient charts and checking insurances. Theresa has been our welcoming face that represents our office and continues to be the staple of Doctor Mark Sawkas’ office. She has been married for 34 years and has 5 wonderful children and 5 grandchildren. Her favorite pastime is spent with her family and 2 dogs outside riding bikes and talking about their day.

Marie-Soleil Sawka is a Grosse Ile High School Graduate and currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Biology at the Lyman Briggs College, the Honors Science college at Michigan State University. She is our top Laser Clinician in the Office and also Dr. Sawka and Karine Sawkas’ daughter. In her free time she enjoys cheering on her Spartan Football team and boating on lake Erie with her family dog, Saylor.

Amanda is the Medical Assistant at our practice and is also a certified Laser Clinician. She is one of the first of many friendly faces you’ll see in the office as she takes you to the exam room to get you ready to see Dr. Sawka. She does refills on patient medications, takes blood pressures and answers any questions that you may have. Amanda has been working alongside Dr. Sawka for seven years and thinks that he is a great doctor and we have loved having her here with us. When she’s not at work amanda enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. The Sucharski family loves to read books and going up north to spend time with their extended family.

Conner is one of our certified Laser Technicians and has been with us for over 2 years. Conner is our young go getter in the office and is always doing something new. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology with a minor in Insurance & Risk Management at Michigan State University. He hopes to go to Medical School after his undergraduate time is over, or go into the family business of Insurance. Conner first started his lawn care service at the age of 13 and was recently certified as an Insurance agent in the summer of 2018. In his free time he plays for the MSU D3 hockey team, enjoys the michigan summertime on lake erie and goes hunting in the winter months.

Saylor is our certified therapy dog in our office and is also the Sawka Family’s pet. Saylor is a Golden Retriever and was added to the Sawka family as a puppy in 2016 and has been helping patients alongside her dad, Dr. Sawka, ever since. Saylor loves anyone who is willing to give her a pet or cuddle, especially children! Her specialties include helping children overcome their fear of shots, swimming in Lake Erie with her family and conning people for more than one treat!
